The Heart Of Agape

Agape Counseling was created to offer accessible support without long delays, guided by a therapist with lived experience in alcoholism and recovery. Many individuals who reach out for addiction support encounter extended waitlists or limited appointment options. Our practice was built to offer steadier and more immediate care from therapists who themselves who have experienced recovery. We believe support should be reachable at the moment a person decides they are ready.

A Good Fit For Individuals Who

  • Seek support for addiction, substance use, or alcohol misuse

  • Prefer a therapist who has experience with alcohol abuse and its effects personally, professionally and within the family

  • Prefer quiet, personalized individual care that focuses on your personal journey not a one size firs all mentality

  • Would like treatment plans shaped around realistic goals

  • Those who have attempted to ween themselves off alcohol through recovery programs only to relapse many times

  • Those who have repeatedly made promises to themselves and their families they would never drink again

Not A Fit For Individuals Who

About Christine Wolken

Hi everyone, my name is Christine Wolken and I am the lead counselor and founder of Agape Counseling located just outside Zion National Park in the beautiful town of Springdale I’ve called home for many years.

My desire to go back to school for addiction was based on personal life experiences. Through my healing journey for myself and with my loved ones I began the long road to recovery. Through practical education and personal development and perseverance I hope to help others in their recovery journey.

“As a trauma informed mental health and recovery therapist I’ll be guiding those who need personalized support from someone who has been there and has found years of sobriety to be the best personal choice I’ve made for myself and my loved ones.

Trust someone who knows the struggle, and can provide you a safe non judgmental space to truly begin to heal.”

In-Person And Virtual Counseling

Services are available at our location in Washington County in person and virtually across Utah. Virtual sessions offer flexibility for individuals who prefer privacy, experience mobility limitations, or have demanding schedules. Family members may participate when clinically appropriate.

Affordable Paths To Counseling And Recovery

Agape Counseling accepts insurance for many treatment plans. Sliding-scale pricing is offered to make support more accessible for individuals and families experiencing financial strain. Our goal is to remove barriers so help is available when it is needed most.

What Success Looks Like

Progress is often reflected in small, meaningful moments, such as:

less anxiety throughout the day

greater awareness of the contributors to your desire to pick up and tools to help decrease that decision

moving through social interactions with more ease

addressing family dynamics and improved communication skills with loved ones

a deeper understanding by those around you the real meanings behind the drink

fewer relapses and more stable emotions over time
